Free Training - Unpaid Carers Awareness

posted Sep 20, 2013, 7:34 AM by Andrew Clements

Liverpool City Council is offering a half-day Carers Awareness session aimed at unpaid carers. If you are working with any unpaid carers please feel free to inform the individual of this awareness session.

The sessions are based around a DVD that was developed by the Carers Making It Happen group; the idea to develop a DVD originated from the Carers Forum and is very powerful to support the delivery of the programme.

The intended outcomes are:

  1. Be able to explain who is a carer
  2. Be able to recognise the impact of the caring role on carers of all ages and the wider family
  3. Be able to challenge common assumptions about carers and their caring rol
  4. Be able to identify ways in which to support carers to maintain their own health and well being

Please note that all sessions will be held at:

Millennium House, 60 Victoria Street, Liverpool, L1 6DB
