'The Journey of a Child Through Care' - Training
Unicef stated in its Millennium Report ‘The State of the World’s Children’ that although huge advances have been made globally in recognising and responding to the needs and the rights of children during the twentieth centre, there is still a significant population of children who grow up in unacceptable conditions and do not reach their potential Professor Eileen Munro in her Review of Child Protection in England (2011) emphasises the importance of early intervention. By ensuring earlier identification and support we can help to prevent an escalation of concerns. In light of this LSCP is hosting this half-day session ‘The Journey of a Child Through Care’. This will be appropriate for any individual working with children and young people in either education, early years or social care, who are looked after outside of the family. Awareness of Frontotemporal Lobe Dementia (FTLD)

LSCP is hosting a training awareness session, which is aimed at all staff working in a social care environment. A general understanding of the issues associated with FTLD will be explored. Celebrating World Mental Health Day - Mental Health Awareness Training
One in four adults and one in ten children are likely to have a mental health problem in any given year. This can have a profound impact on the lives of tens of millions of people in the UK, and can affect their ability to sustain relationships, work, or just get through the day. To raise awareness of this, World Mental Health Day is observed on 10th October every year, with the overall objective of raising awareness of mental health issues around the world and mobilising efforts in support of mental health. To celebrate this day, LSCP is hosting this awareness course, which is aimed at all staff working in a social care environment. Effective Recording Skills - Training for Care Staff
Hello! I thought that the following information may be of value to you. Effective recording is an essential part of service delivery in social care. Every individual, who works with vulnerable people, should be clear about the principles and purpose of record keeping. This one-day course provides participants with the principles of good practice and is delivered in line with policies and legislation. It is important to appreciate effective recording maintains a history for the person, and should highlight any issues or developmental needs, and provides continuity when key workers change. Points covered in this course will include developing skills of recording, understanding how to analyse patterns of behaviour, as well as being able to observe, conceptualise and make action plans. Nutrition and Hydration Training
The following information may be of value to you. CQC REGULATION 14(4)(a) says That the health & social care workforce should know
Additionally, all staff working in health or social care settings should be able to recognise when a person is not eating or drinking properly and should be aware of food safety. It will address mealtime issues workers may face and how to resolve them. It will cover vitamin content of food and the responsibilities of our workforce for maintaining the individual’s fluid intake.
It provides staff with the skills and knowledge to ensure that service users receive the appropriate level of hydration and nutrition. It also covers the importance of food safety and explains the 4 C’s. This course has been mapped to the Care Certificate standards and the Core Skills Training Framework (CSTF) for health. Free CPR Training in Collaboration with the British Heart Foundation
Liverpool Social Care Partnership, in collaboration with the British Heart Foundation, are offering 150 FREE places (25 per session) to learn CPR, this is a lifesaving skill. Survival rates from out of hospital cardiac arrest remain stubbornly low in the UK, with fewer than one in ten people surviving. The British Heart Foundation (BHF) estimate that up to 5,000 more lives could be saved every year if CPR was taught more widely. In fact, when someone suffers a cardiac arrest, their chance of survival can double if a bystander immediately performs CPR. All individuals who attend this training will be able to;
The training will include Adult C.P.R, Child C.P.R. information about defibrillator usage and the recovery position and an opportunity to ask questions. All participants will receive a certificate after successfully completing the session, the certificate will remain valid for 2 years. Awareness of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Obsessive–Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a serious anxiety-related condition where a person experiences frequent intrusive and unwelcome obsessional thoughts, often followed by repetitive compulsions, impulses or urges. The illness affects as many as 12 in every 1000 people (1.2% of the population) from young children to adults, regardless of gender or social or cultural background. In fact, it can be so debilitating and disabling that the World Health Organisation (WHO) has actually ranked OCD in the top ten of the most disabling illnesses of any kind, in terms of lost earnings and diminished quality of life. Based on current estimates for the UK population, there are potentially around 741,504 people living with OCD at any one time. This course has been developed and mapped to:
We will explore the individual’s experience of living with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and how to support them. The course will also challenge the myths and stereotypes surrounding the condition.
