LSCP is hosting this awareness course, which is aimed at all staff working in a social care environment.  A general understanding of the issues associated with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), will be explored.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is an anxiety disorder which can affect people who have been involved in, or witnessed a dangerous event.

The way in which Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder affects people varies, and includes signs such as experiencing flashbacks to the event, dreaming about the event, emotional confusion, guilt, anxiety and tension.

  •  It is estimated that up to 3 in a 100 people may develop PTSD at some stage in life.
  • In England 3 in 100 adults screened positive for PTSD

This training course provides learners with the skills and knowledge to provide support to people who experience the disorder and identify with the possible causes and affects.
