Lone Worker Awareness Training

posted Jul 12, 2017, 6:11 AM by Rebecca Barker   [ updated Jul 12, 2017, 6:11 AM ]

There are nearly 6 million lone workers in the UK (Office of National Statistics)

There is no specific law dealing with lone working. However, all health and safety legislation applies equally to lone workers and in some cases, is even more applicable. Unfortunately employers often forget their responsibilities to lone workers, in particular in respect of issues such as risk assessment, welfare provision, recording of injuries, first aid provision and consultation.

The Health and Safety Executive defines lone workers as ‘those who work by themselves without close or direct supervision’. There are many situations where staff work alone both on site and off site.

However Employers still need to comply with their legal duties towards lone workers under:

  • Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974
  • Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.

The training will take place on:

  • Date -  Friday 21st July 2016 - 9:30PM – 12:45PM
  • Venue :   Liverpool Social Care Partnership CIC, West Derby Community Association, Lowlands, 13 Hayman’s Green, West Derby, L12 7JG

Cost – LSCP Members (2017 membership paid) £38.50
              Non-Members  - £50.00

Please note that tea, coffee and light refreshments will be served during the day, lunch however will not.
