The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has recently published a new COVID-19 rapid guideline focused on the long-term effects of COVID-19 also known as ‘long COVID’.

The guideline, COVID-19 rapid guideline: managing the long-term effects of COVID-19 (NG188), covers identifying, assessing and managing the long-term effects of COVID-19. It makes recommendations about care in all sessions for adults, children and young people who have new or ongoing symptoms 4 weeks after first experiencing acute COVID-19. It also provides information and advice on organising services for long COVID.
