Data Protection & Cyber Security

Data Security and Protection Audits

We support care providers in completing and strengthening their Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) by delivering independent audits and practical feedback. Our audits check that your DSPT has been properly completed, highlight any gaps, and provide clear recommendations to improve compliance and resilience.

As part of the process, we also run a table-top reenactment scenario to test your organisation’s response to a simulated data breach or cyber incident. This safe, structured exercise helps teams build confidence in their ability to manage risks, respond effectively, and protect both service users and organisational reputation.

Through this dual approach of audit and scenario testing, we give you assurance that your data security processes are not only compliant on paper but effective in practice

Business Continuity Plan Testing

We help care providers test and strengthen their business continuity plans through table-top exercises and Exercise in a Box scenarios. These safe and structured simulations allow your team to explore real-world challenges, identify gaps, and refine your response strategies. These could include:

  • Third Party-Compromise
  • Accessing Public Wifi
  • Ransomware Attack
  • Phishing Email
  • Data Exploitation via Generative AI (eg:ChatGPT)
  • Power Outage

By putting your plans into practice in a controlled environment, we give you the confidence that your organisation is prepared, resilient, and ready to continue delivering quality care no matter the circumstances.

We provide consultancy that strengthens organisations at every stage, from setting up new services to improving existing ones. Our support ranges from business start-up guidance, including financial planning and accounting, through to expert tender and bid writing that helps providers compete for opportunities. We carry out independent organisational and service reviews, creating clear action plans to address issues such as staff behaviours, management culture, HR structures, and policies. Alongside this, we deliver DoLS and MCA reviews, ensuring providers are prepared for council checks and can evidence best practice in safeguarding, consent, and capacity. Together, these services give providers the clarity, confidence, and assurance they need to deliver high-quality care and demonstrate strong governance.

We provide consultancy to help new and emerging care providers set up their services with strong foundations. From business planning and financial forecasting to accounting systems and compliance checks, we guide you through the practical steps needed to establish a sustainable, well-governed organisation.

Our support can include:

  • Business planning and market analysis

  • Financial forecasting, budgeting, and cashflow planning

  • Accounting system setup and reporting

  • Regulatory registration guidance (including CQC)

  • Policy and governance framework development

  • HR, workforce, and structural setup

By combining sector expertise with sound financial and accounting knowledge, we help providers launch with clarity, confidence, and resilience.

We provide independent reviews of care organisations and services to identify strengths, highlight areas for improvement, and create clear action plans for sustainable change. Our reviews are designed to give providers a 360° view of quality, culture, and compliance, helping address both operational and strategic challenges.

Typical areas of focus include:

  • Quality auditing and compliance checks

  • Action planning for services rated poorly or requiring improvement

  • Staff behaviours and management culture reviews

  • HR and workforce structure analysis

  • Organisational structure and governance assessment

  • Policy overview to ensure alignment with regulation and best practice

By combining evidence-based auditing with practical improvement planning, we support providers to strengthen governance, improve outcomes, and build confidence ahead of inspections or commissioner engagement

We provide tailored support to help care providers, especially SMEs, navigate the complex process of tendering and bid writing. With a long history of being underfunded and highly scrutinised, the care sector faces unique challenges in presenting its value and securing opportunities. Our consultancy ensures your bids are clear, compliant, and compelling, highlighting your strengths while meeting commissioner requirements. From drafting and reviewing submissions to advising on strategy, we help providers position themselves competitively and confidently in a sector where every contract can make a lasting difference.

We provide independent reviews of your organisation’s compliance with the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) and the Mental Capacity Act (MCA). Our review ensures policies, procedures, and staff practice meet current legal requirements, safeguarding individual rights while demonstrating robust governance. We can support you ahead of local authority checks to ensure readiness, or after checks to address identified actions and strengthen compliance. This helps providers build confidence, improve practice, and evidence quality in inspections.
