Awareness of Migraine (Online)
This course helps learners understand migraines, recognise common symptoms and triggers, and become aware of approaches to managing and supporting individuals affected by migraines.
Learning Outcomes
The Awareness of Migraine course provides learners with a clear understanding of migraine and how the condition can affect an individual’s health, wellbeing, and daily life. Participants will explore the clinical definition of migraine and develop an understanding of how it differs from other types of headache.
The course examines the different types of migraine and how symptoms may vary between individuals. Learners will develop the ability to recognise common signs and symptoms, including headache, nausea, sensitivity to light or sound, and visual or sensory disturbances that may occur with some migraines.
Participants will explore the possible causes and triggers of migraine, gaining awareness of factors that may contribute to or increase the likelihood of an episode. The session also examines the diagnostic process, helping learners understand how healthcare professionals assess symptoms and rule out other potential causes.
The training provides an overview of assessments and treatment options available for migraine, including approaches used to manage symptoms and help prevent future episodes. Throughout the course, emphasis is placed on increasing awareness and understanding of migraine and its potential impact on an individual’s everyday life.
