Managing Change in Social Care (F2F)
This course introduces the principles of managing change in social care, helping learners understand how to respond to change positively while supporting others through transitions
Learning Outcomes
The Managing Change in Social Care course provides learners with an understanding of how change can affect individuals, teams, and organisations within social care settings. Participants will explore the impact of change and consider the emotional, practical, and professional responses that may arise when new ways of working are introduced.
The course examines how to prepare effectively for impending changes, helping learners recognise the importance of planning, communication, and involving staff throughout the change process. Participants will consider how early preparation can reduce uncertainty and support smoother transitions.
Learners will explore the importance of gaining staff ‘buy-in’ and creating a shared understanding of why change is necessary. The session examines common reasons for resistance to change and introduces practical approaches for addressing concerns, encouraging engagement, and supporting individuals who may find change challenging.
The training also explores the process of change, helping participants understand the different stages individuals and teams may experience as they adjust to new expectations, systems, or working practices. Learners will consider how effective leadership and communication can help maintain motivation and encourage positive outcomes.
Throughout the course, emphasis is placed on building and maintaining positive working relationships during periods of change. Participants will develop an understanding of how trust, communication, collaboration, and mutual support can help teams adapt successfully while maintaining high-quality social care services.
By the end of this course, participants will have developed a greater understanding of managing change and feel more confident supporting themselves and others through periods of transition within social care.
