Prevent Training (F2F)
This course introduces the Prevent Duty, helping learners recognise signs of radicalisation and understand how to respond to and report concerns appropriately.
Learning Outcomes
The Prevent Training course provides learners with a clear understanding of the Prevent strategy and its role within safeguarding. Participants will explore the purpose of Prevent and how it aims to safeguard individuals who may be vulnerable to radicalisation or extremist influence.
The course helps learners recognise potential signs of radicalisation and vulnerability, including changes in behaviour, attitudes, or circumstances that may indicate an individual requires additional support. Emphasis is placed on recognising concerns without making assumptions and responding in a proportionate and appropriate way.
Participants will explore how to respond when concerns arise, including the importance of following organisational safeguarding procedures and seeking appropriate advice. The training also explains how to report and refer concerns safely, ensuring information is communicated appropriately and responsibly.
Learners will develop an understanding of their role and responsibilities under the Prevent Duty and how these responsibilities form part of wider safeguarding practice. Throughout the course, emphasis is placed on early recognition, professional judgement, and taking appropriate action to help protect vulnerable individuals.
By the end of this course, participants will understand the Prevent strategy, recognise signs of radicalisation and vulnerability, respond appropriately to concerns, and understand how to report and refer concerns safely in line with the Prevent Duty.
