Prioritising Workload and Time Management (F2F)
This course introduces the key principles of workload prioritisation and time management, helping learners organise tasks effectively, manage competing demands, and work more efficiently in their roles.
Learning Outcomes
The Prioritising Workload and Time Management course supports learners in developing practical skills to manage their time effectively and organise their workload in a structured and productive way. Participants will explore how to clarify and prioritise their objectives, goals, and daily tasks to ensure work is completed efficiently while maintaining high standards of performance.
The course helps learners understand the difference between urgent and important tasks, supporting them to make informed decisions about how to allocate their time and focus their efforts. Participants will also explore how to negotiate realistic workloads and manage responsibilities effectively, helping them remain calm and focused when working under pressure.
Learners will develop skills in communicating effectively and managing the expectations of colleagues, managers, and clients. The session introduces practical techniques and tools that can be used to organise tasks, manage workload, and improve productivity while maintaining a clear sense of priorities.
The training also explores common time-wasting habits and distractions that can affect productivity, helping learners identify these challenges and develop strategies to minimise them. Participants will consider how to manage the flow of paperwork and information, ensuring tasks are handled efficiently and important work is not overlooked.
In addition, the course examines the causes of procrastination and how it can affect decision-making and performance. Learners will explore strategies to become more decisive and confident in managing tasks, while also learning how to handle interruptions, unexpected demands, and changing priorities.
Throughout the session, emphasis is placed on improving service delivery, maintaining quality standards, and boosting satisfaction for those receiving services. Participants will also develop a personal self-management action plan to support ongoing improvement in their time management and workload prioritisation skills.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to prioritise tasks effectively, distinguish between urgent and important activities, manage workloads confidently, reduce time-wasting habits, and apply practical strategies to improve productivity and service delivery.
