This course helps learners understand the causes and effects of stress, recognise common signs and triggers, and explore practical ways to manage stress and support wellbeing.

Learning Outcomes

The Stress Awareness course provides learners with a clear understanding of stress and how it can affect physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing. Participants will explore the difference between stress and pressure, recognising when normal workplace or everyday pressures may begin to have a negative impact.

The course helps learners recognise common signs and symptoms of stress and identify situations, experiences, or demands that may create or increase stress. Participants will consider how stress can present differently from person to person and why individuals may respond differently to similar situations.

Learners will explore how stress can ‘leak’ out through changes in behaviour, communication, emotions, relationships, and performance. Developing awareness of these signs can help individuals recognise when stress may be affecting themselves or those around them.

The training also examines the impact of negative thinking and how unhelpful thought patterns can contribute to increased feelings of stress. Participants will explore practical approaches for challenging negative thoughts and developing healthier and more balanced ways of responding to difficult situations.

Throughout the course, learners will be introduced to simple and practical stress management techniques that can be applied in everyday life. The session aims to increase self-awareness, encourage positive coping strategies, and help participants manage personal stress more effectively while supporting their overall wellbeing.
