Wellbeing – Unwind Your Mind (Online)
This wellbeing session helps learners explore practical ways to relax, manage everyday pressures, calm the mind, and improve their overall emotional wellbeing.
Learning Outcomes
The Wellbeing – Unwind Your Mind session is designed to support care workers in recognising the importance of taking time to relax, recharge, and look after their mental and emotional wellbeing. Working in care can be physically and emotionally demanding, making it important to develop healthy ways of switching off from workplace pressures.
The session explores how everyday stress, responsibilities, and busy routines can affect thoughts, emotions, concentration, sleep, and overall wellbeing. Participants will be encouraged to recognise when they may be feeling mentally overloaded and consider the signs that indicate they need time to rest and recover.
Learners will explore practical techniques for calming a busy mind, including relaxation, breathing exercises, mindfulness, taking effective breaks, and creating healthy boundaries between work and personal life. The session will encourage participants to identify approaches that are realistic and suitable for their own circumstances.
The course also considers the importance of self-awareness and recognising personal triggers for stress or mental fatigue. Participants will explore how positive routines, enjoyable activities, social connections, and making time for themselves can contribute to improved emotional wellbeing and resilience.
Throughout the session, emphasis is placed on simple, achievable strategies that care workers can incorporate into everyday life to help them unwind, manage pressure, restore their energy, and maintain a healthier balance between caring for others and looking after their own wellbeing.
By the end of this course, participants will have developed a greater awareness of their own wellbeing and gained practical ideas for relaxing, managing everyday pressures, and maintaining a healthier emotional balance.
